Neurological Tissue Bank of the Institute of Neuroscience of Castilla y León

The BTN-INCYL is a non-profit brain biobank that has provided an essential service to society since 2011. Our mission is to promote and guarantee the donation of brain tissue in its reference population, mainly Castilla y León. Our objective is the collection, processing and storage of samples of nervous tissue (brain, cerebrospinal fluid and/or spinal cord), voluntarily transferred, and associated with their clinical data, for the performance of post-mortem studies.

Services

• Accommodation and custody of nervous tissue samples as a collection.
• Recruitment, processing and custody of nervous tissue samples in a biobank regime.
• Surplus samples of nervous tissue from diagnosis and research projects, in the latter case, being approved by a CEIC.
• Transfer of nervous tissue samples to researchers, prior approval of the Ethics and Scientific Committees.
